SPIRITUAL COUNSELLING / SPIRITUAL ACCOMPANIMENT

I offer ‘spiritual counselling' or 'spiritual accompaniment' in a  safe and confidential environment within which an inner,  self-directed healing can be unveiled.

Through silence and trusting that any space that has been left empty will be filled.  I will explore your vulnerability with you through the strength and  courage of our connection,  Having created a place of tenderness by simply witnessing I invite you to deeply experience the present where all is welcome without judgement, by listening as much for what is being said as for what is not being said and by allowing the grace of connection to nurture our experience.

 GRIEF ACCOMPANIMENT

Grace Andren said know that ‘Grief is by far the most profound display of Love’.

The five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance or hope. These stages are very fluid, and we can find ourselves moving back and forth between them. Grief we now know is not a one-size-fits-all process. It is individual to each of us and our journey will be filled with peaks and valleys, tidal pools and tsunamis.

Our grief is much like the ocean as it comes in waves to ebb and flow like the tide. Things might be going well and then out of the blue a scent, a song, a photograph triggers a memory and we are drowning yet again.

There seems to be no end to this grief, and we wonder will there ever be a time when we can say to ourselves today I am done with grief. At some point our grief has become a part of who we are.

Grief accompaniment can help us to understand how we are feeling, teach us how to be gentle with ourselves and give ourselves permission to feel joy, to laugh and to live during this time of great pain and change.

END OF LIFE / LIVING WITH DEATH ACCOMPANIMENT

The anticipation of death is a difficult cross to bear and it includes the fear of dying, fear of pain and worrying about those left behind.

In my own family I have experienced both sudden death and terminal illness and I offer End of Life / Living with Death accompaniment  to help you to create a space for the psychological and spiritual exploration you or your family may require.

These sessions include exploring the meaning of life, addressing broken or fractured  relationships, forgiveness, the practicalities of death, sharing important memories, saying goodbye, exploring what death means to you and your loved ones.

Actively engaging with the process of dying can be liberating and comforting and can help to relieve the anxiety of dying for you and your family instead of leaving important things unsaid and undone.

I can provide accompaniment to persons who want an Interfaith Minister, who respects all faiths and none, to sit with them, hold their hand, or just be there as a presence as they make the transition from this life to the next.
